About Yara

Yara is a 100% Kiwi-owned shapewear brand founded in Wellington, New Zealand.

Our journey began in 2017. Over time, we discovered something many women experience when shopping for shapewear in New Zealand: it can be difficult to find pieces that feel comfortable, look good under clothing, offer reliable support, and are still reasonably priced.

That experience helped shape the direction of Yara today.

We now focus entirely on shapewear designed for everyday life — pieces that help create a smoother, more supported silhouette under workwear, everyday outfits and special-occasion clothing, without compromising on comfort.

We work with selected suppliers in China and Sri Lanka and carefully choose products that meet our expectations for comfort, quality, fit and value.

As a small New Zealand business, we can be selective about what we offer and continue refining our range to better meet the needs of our customers.

Proudly New Zealand Based

Yara was founded in Wellington and remains a New Zealand-owned small business.

We may be small, but we care deeply about the experience our customers receive — from choosing the right product to receiving their order quickly and feeling confident wearing it.

Orders are dispatched from New Zealand using fast delivery services, with most orders arriving within approximately 2–3 working days.

Giving Back

Giving back is now part of what we do at Yara.

For every $50 in sales, we set aside $1 for charitable causes. That means 2% of our sales is committed to supporting causes that matter to us.

Our giving includes support for Wellington Hospitals Foundation as well as initiatives helping children in Sri Lanka.

For us, Yara is not only about creating comfortable, quality shapewear. It is also about using our business to make a positive contribution to the communities we care about.
